The Pickled Village raises a toast to Wills and Kate

The Pickled Village never needs much excuse for celebration, but the wedding of our future king has inspired the Northamptonshire-based company to create a very special Wedding Breakfast marmalade.

The thin-cut lemon marmalade with champagne and a splash of crème de cassis is inspired by the Kir Royale cocktail and certainly has something of a regal flavour. Best enjoyed on hot, buttery toast, washed down by a sip or two of champagne!

Camille Ortega McLean, who runs The Pickled Village, has an international background and years of expertise in making preserves of all kinds. Her first range of preserves was stocked all over Britain and the brands were eventually acquired by Baxters of Fochabers.

Through constant tasting, feedback and gossip from customers in Camille’s shop, Bulwick Village Stores, Camille is able to improve and refine her recipes. However, as well as keeping taste-buds amused, The Pickled Village’s quirkily named products always entertain and with monikers like The Cuban Mojito Breakfast, The Minted Mango Tango (green mango chutney with fresh coriander, mint and chillis) and The Undecided Breakfast (layered boozy dark, orange and lemon marmalades), there’s something to entertain all tastes.

Stockists include:  Harvey Nichols, Waitrose (local branches), Bentalls,  Fenwicks of Newcastle, Van Hage Food Emporium, East Dulwich Deli, Snape Maltings and Beckworth Emporium, Northamptonshire
