white chocolate and shortbread stars

A recipe from Abby Smith of Pudding and Pie:  Delicious biscuits that are great fun to make with the children, and presented in a pretty glass jar make a beautiful homemade gift.

 

Ingredients

250g plain flour
75g golden caster sugar
pinch of salt
300g white belgian chocolate

Method

Whizz the flour, sugar, butter and salt together in the food processor to make a soft dough.

Refrigerate for 30 minutes

Roll out on a floured surface to a depth of about 5mm.   Cut into biscuits using a star shape biscuit cutter, and transfer to a lined baking sheeting using a palette knife.

Bake fo 12-15 mins until a pale golden colour.  Leave to cool on the baking sheets

While they are cooling, melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bowl over a pan of boiling water.  Dip the cooled biscuits in the melted chocolate and leave to set on greaseproof paper
